About Trinetra

Trinetra means “the third eye”, Shiva’s eye in Hindu tradition, the one that sees past the obvious. That is the job we gave ourselves.

We are two curious, slightly obsessive people who started the channel in 2026, as the world around Nepal got tenser. A war broke out in the Gulf, where about 1.9 million Nepalis work. Visa rules abroad changed with little warning. Old Cold War files turned out to have a lot to say about Kathmandu. We wanted a place where these stories are explained properly, in Nepali.

Each episode takes one subject, from current affairs, history or the world of intelligence, and asks what it means for Nepal. We write the script from the sources up, record it in Nepali, and publish the full source list next to every video.

Questions

Who is behind Trinetra?

Two people with a lot of curiosity and a shared habit of reading the fine print. We keep our names off the channel on purpose: the episodes should stand on their sources, not on who made them.

Why in Nepali?

Because the people most affected by what happens in the Gulf, in Delhi, Beijing, Washington or Canberra include millions of Nepalis, and most serious analysis never reaches them in their own language.

Where do your facts come from?

Official records, declassified documents, government statistics, court and parliamentary papers, academic work and established news outlets. Every episode's full source list is public in our source archive.

Do you take sides?

We take Nepal's side in the sense that every story is told from where Nepal stands. Beyond that we separate what is documented from what is claimed or only alleged, and we say clearly when something can't be confirmed.
